The golden era of Gibson is commonly considered to be the ’50s through to the early ’60s, but it’s now widely known that there were also some brilliant Les Pauls from the ’70s. What we have here is an excellent example of just how good they could be. Featuring a solid Mahogany body (no pancake bodies around here!), high-output Gibson Mini Humbuckers, and a cool as s*** gold Nitrocellulose finish which shows a story of how this guitar has been enjoyed over the last 45 years – this thing has all the mojo and more! Something that is often replicated by Gibson’s Custom Shop in the modern-day, the original gold finish shows signs of oxidation and has turned green in places – something that is impossible to replicate!
Gibson now produces reissues of the ’70s Les Paul Deluxe, but they’re just not the same. Original ’70s Les Pauls are already starting to creep up in value, just as the ’50s & ’60s Les Pauls did a few years back – enter now for your chance to win a piece of history and a cracking investment!
